Film still of INFRA-DRAWING, single channel video, HD, color, stereo, Tiny Domingos 2024

July 11 – August 8, Installation, Durham Art Gallery

Tiny Domingos’ artistic work explores the interaction between the physical and digital realms, challenging traditional notions of space, embodiment and human connection. In his latest videos, poetic thinking, natural history and micro-gestures are invitations to return upstream (René Char). Sensitivity, playfulness and creativity are highlighted as paths to reconnection with the terrestrial condition and the co-formation of futurities. Based on the concept of plural and transcorporeal identitiy, Quantum leaps and metamorphic processes advocate risk-taking and curiosity as a means of transcending and decentering.

INFRA-TOUCHING, single channel video, HD, color, stereo, 14 :22 min. ,2023

INFRA-TOUCHING explores the natural need to touch and be touched – tactilely and emotionally – in the digital age. It extends the Duchampian concept of ‘infra-thin’ (French: infra-mince) to identify new paths towards emotional and planetary health. This approach aims to slow down and reinforce intensity through subtraction and micro-perception. An opportunity to move towards a reconnection with the terrestrial condition by awakening the senses and paying new attention to the almost imperceptible breaths, exhalations and friction that surround us, inhabit us and are constitutive of our bodies, our well-being and that of the eco-systems we share. Original music by Pratyay Raha.

Pratyay Raha is an Indian composer and sound artist working in the field of new media and
